Last Updated: Friday 19th of November 2010 07:47:00 AM -0700MSTBrazil's JBS, the world's largest meat exporter, is reassuring consumers over the safety of Brazilian beef following reports that a person in Sao Paulo state may have contracted Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease (CJD).
"The news circulating regarding a person initially diagnosed with an illness known as Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease- CJD (or similar) in the state of Sao Paulo has no bearing or association whatsoever with the meat industry," said Jeremiah O'Callaghan, head of investor releations at JBS.
