JOB TITLE: Safety Manager
LOCATION: Midwest
SALARY: To $65+
SUMMARY:
Degree in the Occupational Safety field and 5 years experience in a manufacturing environment. Responsible for all Safety initiatives and data analysis for the company including development and maintenance of all OSHA required programs, Ergonomics, PSM program and environmental compliance, Workers Compensation investigations, JSA and MSDS programs and all employee safety training.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Degree in the Occupational Safety field. Proficient on Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel with a solid computer background. Very strong organizational and communication skills. accuracy, confidentiality, efficiency and professionalism are essential. Knowledge of government regulations in regard to safety issues. Ability to work in a fast paced environment with focus on multiple projects while meeting deadlines.
POSITION SUMMARY:
Development and maintenance of all OSHA required written programs to include but not limited to Powered industrial trucks, Lockout/Tagout, PPE, HAZCOM, Respiratory, Hearing Conservation, Confined Space, Emergency Action Plan, Blood borne Pathogen and PSM program. Development and maintenance of all EPA required written programs to include but not limited to Risk Management, Emergency Planning, Stormwater Discharge – Tier 2, SPCC, SARA and EPCRA and Air emissions programs. Responsible to manage the Company safety program by processing worker’s compensation accident investigations, compiling statistics to identify trends and recommending solutions to reduce injuries and hazards. Actively participate on the Bargaining and Non-bargaining Safety Committees and lead the administration for safety awareness and/or incentive programs. Actively participate on the Government Compliance Committee. Develop and conduct all required safety training for employees. Attend requested training sessions to keep current on all safety and environmental laws and regulations and trends.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Capable of operating all standard office equipment and manual dexterity and visual acuity for using a computer. Must be able to lift a maximum of 40 pounds. Frequent sitting and walking are required. Exposure to production areas requiring use of safety equipment and exposure to hot, cold, damp, dusty and noisy environment. Some travel required.
