Thai award winner plans 100mn Baht meat processing plant

The Thailand Ministry of Commerce has conferred the ‘Thailand’s Best Friend Award’ for the year 2010 on Lulu Hypermarket Group.

Mohamed Althaf, regional director of Lulu Hypermarket Group received the award from Thai Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva at a ceremony in Bangkok.

Lulu Hypermarket Group started its business operations in Thailand with the establishment of its subsidiary EK Prima Export (Thailand) Co. Ltd. in Bangkok in 1998.

The group has established business ventures in sectors like garments, fresh fruits & vegetables.

Lulu Hypermarket Group is planning to diversify its business operations in Thailand with an investment of 200mn Baht in the next five years.

The group also has a plan to invest in a new food division as well as in a meat processing plant with an estimated investment of 100mn Baht.
